An incredible slice of Broadway comes to the Grassland area for the sixth annual Broadway at Bethlehem – Divas & Desserts benefit on Saturday, Feb. 18, with an array of talented performers including Broadwayworld.com award-winning actors Dietz Osborne and Martha Wilkinson co-hosting.

The event will feature singers Megan Murphy Chambers, Melodie Madden Adams, Laura Matula, Kandace Williams and Maggie McNulty at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Performing Arts Center, 2419 Bethlehem Loop Road, in the Grassland area.

“Joyful Melody,” a 30x40 acrylic from artist Ron York, York & Friends Fine Art Gallery, is part of the Broadway at Bethlehem – Divas & Desserts silent auction. Bids are now being accepted at drama@bethlehemumc.com.

The event, with $15 general admission tickets, includes a dessert extravaganza with a signature “Wedding Cake Ice Cream,” custom-made for the event by Nashville favorite Pied Piper Creamery. The star-studded evening will help underwrite the Bethlehem Players’ April 13-28 second world premiere production Southern Fried Nuptials, the sequel to the hilarious Southern Fried Funeral. In addition, it will help the Bethlehem Players lighting system renovation at the performing arts space.

“Osborne and Wilkinson are long-time Nashville area theatre favorites and a hilarious comedic duo,” said Harry Robinson, Bethlehem UMC director of arts and music. “Their participation will make this evening more remarkable for our audience along with the most fantastic night of Broadway music available in our own backyard.”

The evening, which is a sell-out each year, begins at 6 p.m. with the dessert extravaganza. It includes an exciting silent auction including original art created custom for the event by Ron York, Shelley McCoy and Bella Tucker Decorative Finishes; an evening at Mary Poppins with theatre critic Jeffrey Ellis; and much more.

The wonderful night of Broadway hits will be performed from the hugely popular Addams Family to Annie Get Your Gun.

Tickets can be obtained at drama@bethlehemumc.com or 615-791-6456, ext. 2.

The Bethlehem Players, a community theater outreach program of Bethlehem UMC, are celebrating their 15th year. For more info, www.bethlehemumc.com or www.facebook.com/bethlehemplayers.
