Brentwood is well represented among Williamson County Schools' top volunteers who will be honored April 20 during the 14th annual Shining Apple Awards ceremony.
The ceremony will be held at Franklin High School. Honorees in each of five categories will be recognized for service to students during the event sponsored by the Williamson County YMCA Fun Company and the Williamson County Board of Education. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the ceremony at 6:15 p.m.
Volunteers being honored in the Business and Industry category include the Concord Road Publix, serving Sunset Elementary and Sunset Middle.
Civic Organizations being recognized are Brentwood Morning Rotary serving Ravenwood High.
Community Volunteers to be honored are Mary Clouse serving Woodland Middle; Lanny McGowen serving Sunset Middle; and Anne Williams and Lily serving Scales Elementary.
Teachers as Volunteers honorees include Tonya Lewis, Ravenwood High; Craig Madole, Sunset Middle; Melissa Skinner, Scales Elementary; and Lyndsay Younkin, Kenrose Elementary.
Elementary school parents being honored for their service include Polly Diggs serving Kenrose and Jennifer McMillan serving Lipscomb.
High school parents include David Gadd serving Ravenwood; Kathy Gill serving Brentwood; and Jenny Shane serving Ravenwood.
Review teams selected the honorees. Members include Pat Anderson, Tim Brown, Rebecca Collins, Jane Franks, Wesley Fox, Renee Garriss, Susan Graham, Rebecca Hagan, Chris Hawkins, Merilee Heidrich, Cyndy Howes, Janice Mills, Janine Moore, Ralph Ringstaff, Stephanie Simmons, Suzanne Storey, Barry Watkins and Quen Williams.
