Study: Couple fit 'classic paradigm' of serial lawsuit filers

Brentwood Home Page news reports
Brentwood resident Elizabeth Lipa approached members of the Bethel family as they demonstrated on the public sidewalk in front of Brentwood High School this afternoon and after a brief verbal altercation, allegedly assaulted two of them.

There were no serious injuries reported and no students were involved in this incident.

Lipa, of 6508 Murray Lane, was later charged with two counts of assault and released with misdemeanor citations after being processed at the Brentwood Police Department.

Early this afternoon Orlando and Glynis Bethel notified the Brentwood Police Department and local media providing the location and time they would be conducting their protest. Glynis Bethel and her three children had disrupted the BHS school day Monday morning after she attempted to enroll her two daughters. The Williamson County School representatives denied the request on grounds that they did not meet the definition of homelessness as they have a residence in Loxley, Ala.

Carol Birdsong, spokesperson for Williamson County Schools, called today’s protest “not worthy of comment.”
