BOWLING OUTLOOK: Ravenwood on a roll this season

Ravenwood's bowling team got off to a 3-1 early in the season and heads into the home stretch before the district tournament Dec. 5-8.

Mitchell Gordon Kelsey Vourazeris

Junior Mitchell Gordon is the top returning bowler on the boys team with a 179.8 average, and sophomore Kelsey Vourazeris leads the Lady Raptors with a 135.2 average.  (Gordon and Vourazeris are BHP's Mere Bulles Athletes of the Week).

Jordan Woelfle, a junior, is making a big impact in his first season with the RHS team and is scoring at a 138.8-pins per game pace.

Tim Bilbo, who teaches English I and English III Honors at Ravenwood, took over as bowling coach this season. He is a former baseball assistant, football assistant and head swimming coach.

The Raptors bowled against Franklin on Tuesday and has two more regular-season matches -- with Independence at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at Franklin Family Entertainment Center, and against Hillwood at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at Hillwood Strike & Spare.

The district tournament takes place on Dec. 6 at Hillwood Strike & Spare, Dec. 6 at Tusculum Lanes, and Dec. 7-8 at the Franklin bowling alley.

Brentwood Academy fielded a bowling team this season for the first time, while Brentwood High School isn't participating in the TSSAA sport this year.
