The Brentwood boys and Ravenwood girls tennis teams will be competing for state titles next week, and RHS is sending five players to the Spring Fling individual competition as well.

Brentwood defeated visiting Hendersonville 5-0 in the boys team sectionals Thursday, while the Ravenwood girls also won at home, 4-0 over Rossview, to advance to the Division I-AAA semifinals. Team matches begin Tuesday, with finals Wednesday, at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro as part of the TSSAA's Spring Fling state championships.

Ravenwood freshman Sean Karl won the region title over Brentwood's Alex Howard to earn a berth in the state single quarterfinals.

Raptors juniors Nishant Biswas and Nihkil Sharma won a spot in the doubles tournament by beating Brentwood's Matt Crockett and Drake Henandez for the region crown.

RHS sophomores Lauren Caballero and Madison Stankevich captured the regional girls doubles and a state berth with a victory over Emily Dunay and Gabby Crofford of Franklin.

Singles and doubles play opens Thursday, with the finals on Friday.
