Brentwood High’s boys golf team finished as Class AAA state runner-up, and Bruins senior Peyton McClure tied for eighth place after Wednesday’s final round.

McClure shot an even-par 72 at WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester, Tenn., for a 2-over 146 total as BHS placed 10 strokes behind two-time champ Hendersonville (590 to 600). Low medalist was Rossview senior Tyler Guy (67-71 – 138).

Bruins sophomore Chris Tyminski carded a 73 for a 36-hole 148 to share 16th place.

Another Brentwood senior, Grant Lawrence (76), finished at 150 along with Ravenwood senior Jonathan Wise (82), who entered the day in second place.

Raptors sophomore Davis Baxter (75) and Bruins sophomore Drew Grundberg (79) both ended up at 156. BHS senior Ryan Grundberg (82) carded a two-day 161.

In the girls competition, Ravenwood senior Katie Parrott tied for 18th by shooting a second-day 78 for a 162 total.

Lady Bruins senior Catherine Doyle (86) finished at 170, and freshman teammate Sara Kleine-Kracht carded 91 for 188.
