Ravenwood, Brentwood qualify two others for state
Brentwood Home Page news reports The Brentwood boys golf team and Ravenwood's Katie Parrott both won regional championships and made the TSSAA Class AAA state tournament next week in Manchester, Tenn.
Ravenwood's Davis Baxter, the third-place boys medalist, and teammate Jonathan Wise also qualified for state. On the girls side, Brentwood's third-place medalist Catherine Doyle and Lady Bruins teammate Sara Kleine-Kracht also reached the state tournament.

Grant Lawrence shot a 73 and Peyton McClure carded 74 to lead the Bruins to the Region 6-AAA boys title with a winning score of 306 strokes. Chris Tyminski added a 78 and Ryan Grundberg had a round of 81.
The Raptors place third behind BHS and Franklin, which was led by low medalist Seth Bambling's 71. Independence's Michael Monroe shot 72 for second-place honors.
Baxter had a round of 73, and Wise had a 76 for RHS.
Parrott was girls low medalist with 73 strokes, and the Lady Raptors and Lady Bruins (189 each) tied for second behind Independence (176).
Brentwood's Doyle placed third with an 85, while Kleine-Kracht got the final qualifying spot at 104.
Only the winning teams and the top four golfers not on the championship squad make the state tournament. The Class AAA tourney runs Oct. 4-5 at WillowBrook Golf Course.
