So when Barlow Builders was given the opportunity to take part in Tour for the Cure – a unique tour of homes benefitting Susan G. Komen of Greater Nashville – he jumped at the chance.
“We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer – I’ve seen it with my own friends and family,” Pennington says. “So when AMG approached me about the tour, I knew I wanted to get involved. It’s a great cause, and a good opportunity to showcase two totally new floor plans in beautiful Glenellen Estates.”
Such enthusiasm is typical of Pennington, who prides himself on building quality custom homes at an affordable price point.
Barlow Builders has established a presence in desirable neighborhoods such as Avalon and Stockett Creek in Franklin, and Glen Echo in Green Hills. He is building homes in Williamson and Davidson County, in the range of $350,000-$2.2 million, with homes in Glenellen Estates from $500,000s-$700,000's. The company also has half-acre lots for sale in McFarlin Woods in Nolensville from $350,000s-$450,000s, one of the area’s fastest-selling communities.

And while most builders offer limited choices on materials and finishes, Barlow Builders works closely with buyers to accommodate their style and ensure their satisfaction. The selection process is efficient and streamlined, and customers can count on a high level of personal attention throughout the construction process – including weekly phone calls and regular onsite visits.
“The passion of building homes has been something that is in my blood for generations,” Pennington says. “Through the entire construction process, nothing is more exciting to me than watching a family move into their new home. Because of this, I wanted to be able to provide people with a product and services that will leave them with a feeling of comfort and satisfaction, so they can enjoy all the memories that will be created there.”
Tour for the Cure takes place in Brentwood’s Glenellen Estates (off Ragsdale Road, behind the Governor’s Club). The tour is open from 1 p.m.-6 p.m., Nov. 12-13 and Nov. 18-20. Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased online at www.amgtourforthecure.com. All proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen of Greater Nashville.
The tour will feature a unique "chef's Kitchen" and modern designs. One home has a Transitional design style, with a fresh and clean design with use of cool colors and polished nickel fixtures. The other home is more Traditional design, casual and cozy with a rustic feel that will have oil rubbed bronze fixtures. The two houses will be decorated totally different.
Barlow is offering to build out the media room, for a contract by Nov. 20 at the end of the tour. Price of the homes on tour are $675,000 and $665,000.
