The Brentwood Photography Group has named its Photo of the Month winners for May.

May's Theme of the Month was Pair, and Betty Coleman's photo, "Ballet Shoes," is the category winner.

"I took an image of my daughter and other dancers at the April Centennial Youth Ballet Spring Program," Coleman said.  "It was made from the back of the auditorium during a dress rehearsal."

She used a Canon 5D Mark II on a tripod with a Canon EF70-200mm f2.8 ISM Lens, ISO 1000, Exposure 1/160 sec at F4.0. 

In the Open category, the winning "Ear of the Wind" was photographed by Michael Swindle. He shot the photo April 11 in Monument Valley, Utah, on the Navajo Tribal Park.

"The photo is of our Navajo guide standing under a tree in front of an arch named 'Ear of the Wind' playing a flute in the shadows with the arch highlighted by the sun in the background," Swindle said.

 The image was made with a Canon 7D  with a 17mm- 40mm f/4L lens.
