Situated in the far northeastern corner of Williamson County, it might be easy to miss Arlington Heights if you didn’t know it was there. But according to residents of this quiet neighborhood, located off just Pinkerton Road, that’s part of the attraction.

“I live at the end of a cul-de-sac which backs up to a 100-acre forest,” says Richard Asmussen, president of the Arlington Heights Home Owners Association. “In fact, all of the homes back up to the woods, so there’s a lot of privacy. And lots range from a half-acre to a full acre, which gives everyone plenty of space.”

Asmussen relocated to Brentwood from Los Angeles three years ago, and immediately was struck by Arlington Heights' peaceful, park-like setting. But he is quick to point out that residents do not have to sacrifice convenience in the name of peace and quiet.

“We’re not far from I-65, but we’re set back far enough that you don’t hear any traffic,” he says. “We’re convenient to major shopping and roads. And coming from L.A., I was very impressed by how friendly people are here.”

Established in 2006, Arlington Heights includes 42 homes on Arlington Heights Drive and Walnut Hills Drive. Currently, there are just two houses listed on realtracs.com, priced at $569,000 and $575,000, respectively.

The subdivision has been rezoned for Edmondson Elementary, Brentwood Middle and Brentwood High beginning in fall 2011. However, students living in Arlington Heights as of Nov. 15, 2010, may choose to remain in the Sunset Elementary/Middle/Ravenwood High feeder pattern.

“Arlington Heights is a beautiful neighborhood, with large lots, nice views and plenty of privacy,” says Tammie White of Keller Williams Realty. “Several of the homes have walkout basements, which provides additional square footage. All of the homes were built by The Jones Co., and they just recently sold the last home.”

Because of its small size, Arlington Heights does not include amenities such as a community pool or tennis courts. But according to Asmussen, that in no way detracts from the neighborhood’s appeal.

“People are nice, there isn’t much traffic, and it’s very quiet,” he says. “That’s one of my favorite things about this area."
