Three from soccer club headed to European tourneys Brentwood Home Page news reports Brentwood Soccer Club has had 71 players selected to the Olympic Development Program in their respective age groups, more players than from any other club in the state of Tennessee.
Additionally, three other players also made the International Squad. Malinda Allen and Allie Kington, which are 1994 ODP or U17 players, will be representing Region III at the International 1994ODP Tournament in Spain. Also representing Region III at the 1995 ODP Tournament in Germany is Ariel Kupritz, a U16 player.
The ODP was initiated in 1977 with the goal of selecting a pool of soccer players from which the U.S. National Team would be selected. This process of identifying players begins at the state level, progressing regionally and finally to the national level.
"I am very pleased with the number of athletes that we continue to place on the Olympic Developmental state teams,” said Hans Hobson, director of coaching at Brentwood Soccer Club. “The number of players represented from Brentwood Soccer Club is a credit to the awesome job our coaching staff does to develop players."
