Brentwood, Ravenwood both play in tourney at Crockett Park

Twenty high school softball teams including tourney host Brentwood and rival Ravenwood will compete Friday-Saturday in the 2011 Lady Bruins Chick-Fil-A Classic at Crockett Park.

Pool play begins at 4 p.m. Friday and continues starting 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Single-elimination play starts at noon Saturday, with the championship at 8 p.m.

BHS has games at 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Friday, and RHS plays back-to-back at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Friday. Both teams finish pool play with 8:30 a.m. games Saturday.

A tourney pass costs $8, while per-day admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Each game until the final will have a time limit of 1 hour, 15 minutes with a one-inning tiebreaker if needed, and a coin toss will determine the home team. The tournament is divided into four-team pools:

A: Brentwood, Rhea County, John Paul II, Ezell-Harding
B: Ooltewah, David Lipscomb, Gordonsville, Mt. Juliet
C: Franklin, Walker Valley, North Laurel, Forrest
D: Soddy-Daisy, Ravenwood, Friendship, Davidson Academy
E: Beech, East Hamilton, Bradley Central, Cornersville

4 p.m.: Lipscomb vs. Mt. Juliet, Franklin vs Forrest, Brentwood vs. Ezell, Davidson vs. Friendship, Beech vs. Cornersville
5:30 p.m.:  Gordonsville vs. Ooltewah; N. Laurel vs. W. Valley, Rhea Co. vs. JPII, Soddy-Daisy vs. Friendship, Bradley vs. Cornersville
7 p.m.: Beech vs. E. Hamilton, Forrest vs. N. Laurel, Lipscomb vs. Ooltewah, Ezell vs. Rhea, Ravenwood vs. Davidson
8:30 p.m.: E. Hamilton vs. Bradley, Mt. Juilet vs. Gordonsville, Franklin vs. W. Valley, JPII vs. Brentwood, Ravenwood vs. Soddy-Daisy
