Brentwood Home Page news reports Ravenwood's girls basketball team opens play in the District 11-AAA tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday at home against Centennial.
If they win, the Lady Raptors will get a third meeting with No. 2 seed and crosstown rival Brentwood in Saturday's semifinals at tournament host Centennial.
"We'd love to have a rematch," Coach Ron Brock said after Friday's loss to the Lady Bruins.
The top-seeded Brentwood and No. 2 Ravenwood boys teams both earned byes into the semifinals -- which also mean they already have a spot in the regionals hosted by Ravenwood Feb. 25-26.
The Lady Raptors, who beat CHS by nearly 20 points in both meetings this season, are led by seniors Erin Lauderdale and Lydia Wright. RHS ( , 7-3 11-AAA) split with the Lady Bruins and lost twice to Hillsboro in the district.
"It's always tough in the district no matter who you're playing," Brock said Friday. "You can't take anybody lightly in any game at any level when you start getting into district play and tournament play. We're going to take (Centennial) very seriously."
