Brentwood Home Page staff reports
If you live on Stuart Lane, Stanfield Road, Woodside Drive, Glenview Drive, Oak Hall Drive or Colleton Way life is about to get a little smoother. The City Commission recently approved the Public Works Department’s street resurfacing plan for the 2011-2012 fiscal year and these streets are at the top of the priority list.

The department prioritizes all Brentwood streets based on a field evaluation of their condition.
Within the $1.8 million is allocated for resurfacing, with $1.565 million proposed for the initial allocation. The overall funding for street resurfacing in the FY 2012 budget is up $125,000 from the previous fiscal year. A total of 18.9 lane miles (9.45 road miles) are scheduled to be resurfaced by June 2012. This represents approximately 5 percent of the total lane miles under city control.

A $234,180 contingency fund will be set aside for additional street repairs next spring that may be adversely impacted by severe winter conditions. If the entire contingency is not needed for extraordinary repairs, the remaining funds will be reallocated to repair/resurface the next streets identified in need of resurfacing on the priority list.
